Convert PDF to TXT Online — Free, No Sign-Up, Plain Text Output
Sometimes you don't want a formatted document — you want the raw words. Maybe you need to paste a long passage into a translation tool that chokes on rich text formatting. Maybe you're feeding a document into a data analysis pipeline that expects plain .txt input. Or maybe you just want to copy text from a PDF without dealing with broken line breaks, strange font encodings, or accidental spaces. FlowPDF strips away everything — fonts, margins, colors, images, tables — and gives you the pure, unadulterated text content of your PDF, in reading order, saved as a simple .txt file. What you get is a clean slate: no invisible characters, no layout artifacts, just the words that were on the page, in the order they were meant to be read. This is particularly useful for researchers, students, and anyone who needs to analyze document content programmatically.

Frequently asked questions
No — this tool extracts text that is already stored as text within the PDF. If your PDF is a scanned image (just a photograph of a page), there's no actual text data to extract. For scanned documents, you would need an OCR tool first to recognize the text and turn it into selectable characters. FlowPDF's pdf_to_txt reads the existing text layer — it doesn't perform optical character recognition.
